Frosted, Flourless Chocolate Cake
The lack of flour makes this cake extra fudgey. I decided to frost it for a little extra sweetness and berries add a seasonal decoration!

Frosted, Flourless Chocolate Cake


  • 10 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 5 oz unsalted butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • For the Frosting
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup icing or confectionary sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tablespoon milk

How to make

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
  2. Heat chocolate and butter in a double boiler, stirring periodically.
  3. Meanwhile, whip eggs with a mixture for 3 minutes then slowly add in granulated sugar until combined
  4. Whip eggs and sugar for an additional 6 minutes until mixture thickens
  5. Fold chocolate into eggs mixture and stir together
  6. Pour batter into a buttered pan
  7. Cook cake for 20 or so minutes
  8. While cake is cooking, mix together butter and confectionary sugar.
  9. Add milk and vanilla after sugar and butter mixed together.
  10. When cake is done, allow to cool thoroughly before attempting to frost.
  11. Add berries or other decorations as you please.
