Home made hummus with cheeky chilli sprinkle

  • 200g canned chickpeas - drained
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp tahini paste
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 3 tbsp olive oil (ideally extra virgin)
  • 2 slices sourdough, or other crusty bread
  • Small handful of chopped chives
  • Small handful pomegranate seeds
  • Cheeky Food Co Hot Chilli Sprinkle (Pouch) - £2.00
  • Generous pinch of salt and pepper

How to make

  1. Firstly, crack on with the hummus - put the chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, tahini and seasoning into a food processor
  2. Blend whilst slowly adding the olive oil, until you have a smooth paste. If the mixture looks a little dry, add a little water or oil until satisified
  3. Meanwhile toast the sourdough (or other bread)
  4. Once ready, spread the hummus across both slices - topping with pomegranate seeds and fresh chives and a sprinkle from the Cheeky Chilli pouch
  5. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and enjoy

For an extra layer of flavour - why not add grated zest from the lemon?
