Caramelised BBQ Salmon
This sticky salmon recipe makes for a deliciously wholesome weeknight dinner. Serve with steamed greens and sweet potato wedges.

Caramelised BBQ Salmon


  • 4 salmon fillets (about 150g each)
  • 2 tbsps hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • coconut oil

How to make

  1. Mix together hot sauce, brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Sprinkle salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
  3. Brush grill grate (or cast iron griddle) and lay the salmon fillets skin-side up. Cook until clear grill marks appear (about 2-3 minutes) and turn.
  4. Brush the fish with spicy mixture and continue to cook it, brushing it periodically until it's done (about 10-15 minutes more, depending on how thick the fillets are).
