Creamy Cacao Breakfast Smoothie
Since discovering cacao powder (the raw, unheated form of chocolate which is said to be less processed than cocoa powder, and far richer in nutrients, healthy fats and fibre) it’s become a staple ingredient in our kitchen. Just a spoonful is said to deliver a powerful dose of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It’s also said to help control hunger and increase happiness. What better way to start the day!

Creamy Cacao Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana, sliced (preferably frozen)
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp natural salted peanut butter or almond butter (We use Meridian)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Handful spinach
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk of choice (or half milk and half water)
  • 1 heap tbsp natural, unflavoured protein powder (optional)
  • Few cubes ice

How to make

  1. Blitz everything together until smooth and creamy.
