Vegan; Nepalese Style Roti
I've struggled to find roti in store which are certified vegan, and so I decided to make my own, and they go great with dhal!

Vegan; Nepalese Style Roti

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Wholemeal Spelt Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Water
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp of vegan margarine

How to make

  1. Combine the flour, salt, and water together in a medium sized bowl, until a ball forms.

  2. Place a damp towel over the bowl and set aside for 5 minutes.

  3. On an oiled surface knead the dough for 1 minute until smooth and elastic.

  4. Cut the dough into 4 pieces, and roll out into equally sized ovals.

  5. Per piece of dough, heat a flat iron pan, with 1 tbsp of vegan margarine, and cook the roti on medium high, turning over, once the roti starts to inflate, and brown around the edges.

  6. Slightly dab the roti once cooked with a bit of kitchen roll and serve with dhal!
