Pumpkin Spice Latte
It's October which can only mean one thing, it's pumpkin spice latte season...huzzah! Not only will you save yourself money with this recipe but you'll be also avoiding all of the mysterious sugar in the over counter versions. Full-fat milk works brilliantly for pure frothy milky goodness or you can swap it out for coconut milk to create a delicious dairy-free alternative.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients

Pumpkin Spice

  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

  • 2 tbsp canned pumpkin purée
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (store-bought or homemade, see directions below)
  • 500 ml milk (whole or skimmed, or any unsweetened nondairy milk)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 shots espresso

How to make

Pumpkin Spice Mix

  1. Mix all of your ingredients together

  2. Pour into a clean spice jar

Pumpkin Spice Latte

  1. Pour your pumpkin puree, spice mix, milk, syrup and vanilla extract into a small saucepan and start to stir. Stir continuously until it starts steaming

  2. Remove from heat and pour your mixture into a blender. Blend until your mixture becomes frothy

  3. Make two espressos

  4. Pour your espressos into separate mugs and add your pumpkin spice mixture. Top with some frothy milk if you wish and a sprinkle of the spice mix.
