Jackfruit Turkey
A great alternative to Turkey this Christmas is this Jackfruit Turkey recipe... or Jackurkey. The texture of the young green jackfruit is a great substitute to meat, so vegans and vegetarians don't have to miss out!

Jackfruit Turkey


  • 3 large spring onion
  • 4 large garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp rapeseed or sunflower oil
  • 5 large sage leaves
  • 1 tsp stock powder
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 can of young green jackfruit
  • 3 apples
  • 1 tsp of SKU:274-001
  • A splash of water

How to make

For the gravy:

  • Slice spring onions and garlic then fry on a low heat with the oil until the garlic browns. (Approx 10 min)
  • Put the spring onion and garlic into a bowl and add the sage, stock, soya sauce, mushroom powder and water. Blend till smooth.

For the Jackurkey:

  • Drain the jack fruit, rinse well and break apart. Place into a saucepan and add the gravy.
  • Warm over medium heat, mix and leave this to simmer.

For the apple sauce

  • Peel, core, roughly chop the apples. Place into a small sauce pan, add a small amount of water, and place a lid on top.
  • Bring to boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer.
  • Once the apples are soft, remove from heat and blend until smooth with a hand blender
