Potatoes Sukhe Aloo
I like cooking this dish with an Indian meal because it's easy, tasty and always a sure winner with my guests.

Potatoes Sukhe Aloo


About 5 large potatoes (roughly 400g)

1-2 tsp Vegetable Fry Masala

3-4 tbsp cooking oil

How to make

  1. Peel and slice the potatoes. First slice the potato lengthways. Take one half and slice it lengthways again and then slice thinly into slices that are 2-3 mm thick.

  2. Heat a pan with 3-4 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add 1-2 tsp Vegetable Masala. Stir and add the sliced potatoes. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp salt. DO NOT ADD WATER OR COVER.

  3. Continue stirring occasionally on high heat until the potatoes look golden and crisp.

  4. Taste a piece to see if it is cooked and adjust the level of salt if needed. Add chilli powder if you would like them spicier.

  5. The potatoes are ready! Delicious with daal, rice or Indian breads. Can even be eaten on their own as a snack!
