Vegan Savoury Pancakes
This is a simple and easy Vegan, Gluten-Free, Savoury pancakes recipe that makes a quick snack or lunch. This recipe using gram flour or chickpea flour that is a must have cupboard staple for any gluten-free enthusiast.

Vegan Savoury Pancakes


  • 1/4 Red pepper, finely chopped
  • Half a carrot, finely chopped
  • Handful of peas
  • 45g of porridge oats (gluten free)
  • Two tablespoons of gram flour (this can be bought in any Sainsbury’s world food aisle)
  • 1/3 cup water, add more later if necessary
  • Salt to taste
  • Slight olive oil for greasing the pan
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 2 tsp of Cheeky Food Co Nutter Coconut Sprinkle (Jar) - £5.00

How to make

  • In a blender add all your roughly chopped veggies, oats, gram flour and cumin seeds plus the water and blend till as smooth as possible.
  • Add salt and baking powder and check consistency, you want it to be thicker than normal crepe mix but slightly thinner than cake batter
  • Lightly grease a non stick pan and allow the pan to heat till slightly smokey.
  • Pour half a cup of batter into the hot pan and cover for a few mins reduce heat to medium.
  • Once your pancake looks “bubbly” and slightly set, it’s ready to flip with a spatula.
  • Cover again and cook until firm. Around 2 minutes. And ta-da your savoury pancakes are ready.
  • Repeat for each pancake.
  • Stack and top with your favourite topping, I used Sriracha hot sauce and a generous sprinkle of Nutter Coconut.
