A beautiful Simnel cake made with a lovely layer of marzipan in the middle of a fruit cake base. The top is decorated with 11 marzipan balls which represent the 11 disciples (minus Judas) and the cake is finished with a pretty ribbon. Simnel cakes were originally a Mothers Day cake but over the years have moved on to being more of an Easter Cake.
